Get Ready for TeaCon 2011

2011_8_30_teacon.jpg Grab your tri-corner hats — the Tea Party is coming to town.

If conservative pundits and libertarian politics aren’t your mug of coffee, steer clear of Schaumburg on the weekend of Sept. 30. The northwest suburb will host the inaugural Midwest Tea Party Convention, dubbed TeaCon 2011, with keynote speaker Glenn Beck.

Saturday will purportedly feature a Republican presidential candidates forum:

We are inviting all of the declared GOP presidential candidates to appear in 20-minute increments with our moderator to answer questions and talk about their respective campaigns. At the conclusion, we’ll be conducting a straw poll.

The Midwest does love its straw polls.

Beck visited the northwest suburbs in 2010 as the keynote speaker for the RightNation event at the Sears Centre. His Fox News TV show signed off the air earlier this year.

If the Tea Party is so independent and different, why do they always vote for Republicans?
