Track that Truck! Meatloaves, Macarons and the Schnitzel King

Chicago’s food truck scene, despite some minor setbacks, continues to add new savory foods and sweet treats. Here are a few more to keep your eyes peeled for in the coming months.

  • Meatloaf-A-Go-Go: The pioneer of meat cakes (of both full sized and cup varieties), Cynthia Kallile will bring her creative meatloaf creations to the street fare scene within the next few weeks. The menu, still being planned, will include Meatloaf Bakery favorites like the Mother Loaf (ground beef, pork and veal with Yukon potato frosting), the Loaf-A-Roma (beef and Italian sausage with a mozzarella topping and a sprinkling of angel-hair pasta) and their signature cookie (a mess of m&m candies, pretzels, dulce de leche, oats and chocolate chips).
  • Sweet Spot Macarons: Billing themselves as “the world’s FIRST macaron truck,” Sweet Spot will soon help you get your fill of macarons.
  • Chicago Schnitzel King: “Holy Schnitzel that’s good!” made our ears perk up. While not much has been said about this new truck, the words “sandwich warmer” and “schnitzel” has us anticipating their mid-September launch.
