The Book of Mormon Comes to Chicago

The biggest winner at this year's Tony Awards was easily Trey Parker and Matt Stone's The Book of Mormon. The wwinner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, Best Featured Actress and Best Direction, not to mention scores of critics awards, the play from the irascible South Park creators showed their humor can translate to the stage and a completely different audience from what they usually find on Comedy Central.

Broadway in Chicago announced The Book of Mormon will come to the Bank of America Theatre for a 12-week run starting in December 2012. Parker and Stone are quoted in the press release we received as saying they'll be involved in the Chicago production, just as they were in the show's Broadway run.

Individual tickets for the play aren't on sale yet. But group tickets (15 or more) are for sale by calling Broadway in Chicago group sales at (312) 977-1710. The Book of Mormon will also be listed on 2012 Season Subscription Series, which goes on sale Sept. 18.
