Mancow and His Ego Return to Chicago Radio

Eric "Mancow" Muller will be back on the airwaves in October on the Elmhurst station WJJG-AM 1530 with a three-hour morning show that will be replayed in the afternoon. Mancow sat down for an interview with Time Out Chicago's Robert Feder, and he managed to insult his former employer, the dearly departed Q101, while massaging his own ego. Apparently dominating six hours of air time isn't enough for him.

He said:

“While some of lesser ego may say that’s great, I say it’s not nearly enough. Just as with Q101 and Mancow, it’s tough to program around perfection. I’d like to suggest they run two shows at once.”

Q101 dropped his show in 2006, then he came back to Chicago on WLS-AM in October 2008. Sixteen months later, WLS-AM dropped Mancow's show with Pat Cassidy. The sole highlight of that show was when Mancow was waterboarded.

Clearly those setbacks haven't stopped him from loving himself. “I am the sole survivor," he told Feder. "The solitary fire burning brightest across the radio landscape.”

This chic is just a Mancow hater and does not know much about radio..if anything.   What some people fail to realize is that Mr Mancow has been broadcasting on the air daily for almost 20 years and not just sitting on his couch waiting for the phone to ring. And this not for his Ego or even a paycheck, I would say its because radio is in his blood and wants his message to get out there. Is thier a problem saying your good when you are? Listen to about any other radio show if you want to know how good Mancow show is.    After his Q101 and WLS days were done he still has a large following on is national show and his New York WABC show. I think he is great and right on topic and I have listend to him for years.  Mancow is a powerhouse in radio and all you have to do is listen to his show and see the incredible guests he has on the show that themself love the guy.  I say great for the move...that station is going to the top and welcome back to Chicago airwaves.
