Gebert Charts History of Chicago BBQ

Sky Full of Bacon's Michael Gebert has been a bit busy filming the Reader's "Key Ingredient" series to regularly check in with his own videos. Gebert's back with an amazing look at the history of Chicago barbeque.

Gebert looks at barbeque from the African American perspective and makes a compelling argument that Chicago not only has a style of barbeque all its own, but it's thriving. He interviews Uncle John's BBQ's Mack Sevier, James Lemons of Lem's Bar-B-Q and Honey 1's Robert Adams, among other pit masters. He also looks at how the aquarium smoker came to be. We take late lunches so this is our pre-diversion time suck. Sit back and enjoy.
