Patrick Stump, Lupe Fiasco Pay Tribute To "This City"

patrickstumpJG.png Former Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump's first solo joint Soul Punk drops in October, but a new video for the remix of album cut "This City," featuring fellow Chicagoan Lupe Fiasco, was released on Tuesday.

The clip, featuring plenty of flash, soulful hooks, and a couple of rhymes from Fiasco praising a metropolis that may or may not be Chicago, was directed by Ken Koller. Lupe's verses about the city of Wind may not match up to his work on The Cool's "Go Go Gadget Flow," but, if nothing else, that chorus will hopefully be a spring in the step of those grumpy Brown Line riders. • I feel so much pride for living in my generic city! They both just lost 100 hometown points, giving Stump a score of -100.

Out of curiosity, where does that leave Lupe?

  • Somewhere between R.Kelly and Local H.

    That's a pretty broad range #timelyreplies #whatareyougoingtodoIwasatgradschool

  • You also may be curious as to who is leading. Easy. http://bit.ly/G8ePj

I need to check "Family and Friends" out, though it's been on my radar for a while. Bummer his tour with Why? got canceled.
