Free Stuff: Veggie Burgers at The Counter

By Anthony Todd in Food on Sep 30, 2011 6:20PM

2011_9_30VeggieBurger.jpg Tomorrow is World Vegetarian Day (according to whomever it is that makes those decisions) and to celebrate, The Counter in Lincoln Park is giving away free mini veggie burgers!

The special veggie burger of the day has provolone, red pepper and Dijon balsamic dressing. The Counter's veggie burgers have gotten some pretty rave reviews, and are made in-house out of a combination of brown rice, spinach, panko bread crumbs, mushrooms, onions, corn, black beans, zucchini, red bell peppers and carrots. The patty, pre-cheese, is also vegan.

There is some small fine print - you get the veggie burger with any other burger purchase. So we've decided to rename World Vegetarian Day. It's now "Make peace with your carnivorous friends by eating a burger with them" day. Veggies, try not to give too many dirty looks.

The Counter is located at 666 W Diversey Parkway.
