Looks like we're due for a bit of a warmup and drying out period today. The gray skies have finally moved on and the sun is out in all its glory here at Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters. Expect a high of 67 today. That will be the starting point for what Skilling Central is forecasting to be a week-long warming trend that could see the mercury reach 80 later in the week.

On this day in Chicago history Ray Kroc, who took a sleepy hamburger restaurant in Des Plaines and transformed it into one of the world's largest employers with a "billions and billions served" philosophy, was born in Oak Park in 1902.
