Indiana Teen Flees Cops, Comes Back for ID in Handcuffs

What is it with the goofiness of Indiana crime lately, besides the common connection of alcohol? Last week a Rensselaer teen was arrested for underage drinking at a party, but sneaked out of a squad car and fled.

The teen, 18-year-old Zachary Keilman, later went to the Lowell Indiana State Police and asked the desk sergeant if there was a warrant out for him. When the sergeant asked why, Keilman raised his sleeves to reveal the handcuffs still locked on his wrists, the chain cut through.

Keilman said he returned because he believed he left his identification in the squad car. He now faces charges of escape and resisting law enforcement. We always knew Indiana was an untamed wilderness after dark. We didn't realize how untamed.
