2011_10_03_KegsForKids2011Poster.jpg The annual Kegs for Kids benefit for Edgewater's Helen C. Pierce Elementary is coming up on Saturday. The craft beer tasting festival has grown out of its previous location at Metropolis Coffee, and this year's event will be at Loyola University's Mundelein Auditorium.

In addition to beer, some special wines and Metropolitan coffees will be available. Even if you can't make it, you can check out the silent auction. Big ticket prizes include dinner with Alpana Singh and Hugh Amano, a Cubs Dream Day, dinner for six at Ceres or a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

As for food and beer, we couldn't find a list of this year's vendors. But last year's participants included a number of Andersonville-area restaurants and craft beers, both local and national. Brands included Bells, 3 Floyds, New Holland, Dogfish Head, Petrus and more.

Tickets are $65 for regular admission and $100 for VIP, which includes early admission and a t-shirt with their ticket.
