Former County Commissioner Tony Peraica was sent to jail because he showed up late to court this morning. The hearing was related to his October 2010 arrest for allegedly tearing down his opponent's campaign signs. The judge didn't cut him any slack for waltzing into the courtroom an hour-and-a-half late. The Sun-Times writes:
“You of all people should know — 9 o’clock is 9 o’clock,” (Judge Kerry M.) Kennedy yelled from the bench shortly before noon once Peraica’s attorney showed up. “You’re a defendant in this case. I can’t give you special treatment, I won’t give you special treatment.”
Ouch. Peraica was released. He still swears his arrest last fall was ordered by his political rival then-McCook mayor Jeff Tobolski, who defeated Peraica in the election for Cook County commissioner.

No question that "the mob" was involved somehow. Y'see, every time something doesn't go Tony's way, it's because of a conspiracy among "mobbed up" Democrats and other political rivals.

This guy is about as slimy as they come.
