Rezko Sentencing Delayed Again

By Chuck Sudo in News on Oct 4, 2011 1:35PM

Former Rod Blagojevich adviser and fund-raiser Tony Rezko had his sentencing delayed once again yesterday as Judge Amy St. Eve agreed to a request by prosecutors to delay Rezko's sentencing until Nov. 22 so that it doesn't coincide with the trial of Springfield power broker William Cellini. The sentencing hearing was set for Oct. 21.

Rezko was convicted in June 2008 on 16 of 24 counts of corruption, aiding and abetting bribery and money laundering. Shortly after his conviction, Rezko turned himself into authorities to start serving a sentence that has been delayed again and again and again as prosecutors have used various excuses to postpone the sentencing. At this point they have to be fucking with Rezko using the legal system, right?
