Pencil This In

Kirsch von Blucher, the collaborative brew between City Provisions and Flossmoor Station brewing, gets a special tapping from 7-10 p.m. tonight at Small Bar Division (2049 W. Division St.). Cleetus from City Provisions and Nick Barron from Flossmoor will both be on hand to talk about the brew and hang.

Piece is throwing their own twist on an Oktoberfest celebration tonight from 8-11 p.m. They'll have Oktoberfest offerings from Half Acre, Goose Island, Revolution, Mickey Finn's, Haymarket, Three Floyd's, Emmett's, and Rock Bottom Chicago, in addition to their own, Oktoberfist. Music will be provided by The Pod, a Ween Tribute band.

Poetry

Today is the 57th annual Poetry Day and the Harold Washington Library hosts a reading with 2010 U.S. Poet Laureate W.S. Merwin 6 p.m. tonight in the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium (Lower Level) at the Harold Washington Library Center. This program is presented in partnership with the Poetry Foundation. (400 S. State St.)
