Carol Moseley Braun Is a Trekkie

During an interview on her post-political life, Carol Moseley Braun revealed that she is a trekkie. The former U.S. Senator and mayoral hopeful also spoke with Politico about her personal successes and financial failures as a small business owner. Her financial losses as owner of Ambassador Organics were revealed in her tax returns during the 2011 mayoral race. But now that she has left politics, she has more time to practice her Klingon pronunciation. Politico writes:

Do you like science fiction?

[Flashing the Vulcan salute with both hands] Live long and prosper! [Laughing] I do like “Star Trek.” My staff had Patrick Stewart, who plays Capt. Picard, call me on my 50th birthday. I thought it was a joke at first, but he has such a distinct voice. I went to see him in a play after that … but I’ve never been to a Trekkie convention.

Too bad her political career will neither live long nor prosper.
