Who You Gonna Call to Buy Tickets For Ghostbusters?

2011_10_17_ghostbusters.png We wish movie studios would do this more often. Sony Pictures is re-releasing the original 1984 Ghostbusters to select theaters for a limited time this month. It's a very limited time, actually -- just three dates, and you missed one already.

You can reunite with doctors Venkman, Stanz and Spengler on Thursday, Oct. 20 and Thursday, Oct 27 at 7 p.m. at the theaters listed below. Buy your tickets early because it'll surely sell out. We really wish they would've gone full stream with this. For more information, check the Ghostbusters Twitter stream, aptly named StayPuft4Eva. We've listed the Chicago theaters that will show the film. Check Fandango to find other theaters in the suburbs of Evanston, Skokie, Warrenville, Lincolnshire and more.

By the way, here's a recipe to make your own Ecto-Cooler, the neon drink you didn't know you'd miss. A note to the people who decided to remake those other 1984 classics, Footloose and Karate Kid: You should've just re-released the original. I mean, come on. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I wish this were a wider release so I could catch it.  F all of these remakes...why not try releasing some beloved classics to the megaplexes?  Don't underestimate the nostalgia factor, MPAA.
