Beer Hoptacular Returns to Aragon

2011_10_18_beer_hoptacular.jpg Last year over 4,000 people attended the Chicago Beer Hoptacular at the Aragon Ballroom. The event, where beer lovers can sample from hundreds of selections by local and national breweries for a flat fee, proved to be so successful that organizers have set Nov. 5 for the now-annual event.

The Beer Hoptacular will be split into two four-hour tasting sessions to ensure everyone who wants to sample will be able to do so. With the growth of Chicago's craft beer scene the past two years, the brewery list better reflects an area influence. Goose Island, Bell's, 5 Rabbit, Hamburger Mary's, Finch's, Limestone, Piece, Argus, Central Waters Brewing, Two Brothers, Lucky Monk, Flatlander's, Mickey Finn's, Flossmoor Station, Destihl Emmett's, Lake Bluff and Arcade Brewing are among the local and regional breweries participating this year.

Tickets are available online or you can avoid the surcharges and buy them directly from the Vic Theatre box office during office hours. (That's not a typo. The event is at the Aragon but tickets are being sold at the Vic.)
