Dia de Los Muertos Party

Online Latino culture magazine Gozamos is hosting a Day of the Dead party 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Chicago Art Department (1932 S. Halsted). $15 gains you entry with beer provided by 5 Rabbit Brewery and a full line up of DJs including DJ Reyna, ((Sonorama)), Ghetto Division, Sound Culture, and Soulphonetics. Fundraiser

The Sue Duncan Children's Center's will celebrate 50 years of providing a safe, enriching environment where children from some of Chicago’s most impoverished neighborhoods come each day and have the opportunity to grow into educated, responsible young adults from 6:30 - 9 p.m. tonight at the University Club (76 E. Monroe). Featured speakers include Education Secretary Arne Duncan; Kerrie Holley, IBM Fellow and Center alum, will pay tribute to founder Sue Duncan; Owen Duncan, SDCC Executive Director, will discuss how the Center has influenced his life and its expansion plans.
