    I read pretty quickly, but the Chicago News Cooperative story didn't seem to do any analysis of police per thousand residents or square miles. Districts are not of uniform size. Did I miss that part of the analysis, because a pure comparison of districts to officers assigned would be so lacking in critical thinking that it would never be published, right? Help me out here.
