Make: A Chicago Literary Magazine has a release party planned for issue 11: "Neither/Nor" 7:30 p.m. tonight at Rational Park (2557 W. North Ave.). The party will feature short readings and ruminations from issue #11 contributors Janet Desaulniers, David Raskin, Spencer Hendrixson, Zeena Barazanji, Laura Goldstein, Benjamin David Van Loon, and Dylan Nice; animation installation by illustrator and #11 contributor Geoffrey Hamerlinck; DJ Nathan Hinshaw of Let's See Other People; special guest MCs comedian Adam Burke and rabble-rouser Ramsin Canon; and a late night appearance by Rachel Mason of Little Band of Sailors. Admission is a $8 suggested donation.

Film

The newly re-opened Patio Theater (6008 W. Irving Park Rd.) will be hosting a special screening of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street in 35 mm at 10 p.m. tonight and tomorrow. Tickets will only be $3. Go!

Music

Looking for a laid back Halloween? Then join the Possum Hollow Boys, who will be in costume and rocking out this Sunday at Simon's Tavern (5210 N. Clark) at 8:30 p.m. They're encouraging you dress up, as well.
