Chef Tweet of the Week: Restaurateurs, Beware!

2011_11_1Graveyard.jpg Halloween led to some pretty fun tweets from Chicago restaurants. While our favorite was certainly Rick Bayless in his devil costume tweeting from Lula Cafe, this is a close second. From the geniuses behind El Ideas comes this chalkboard. "The spookiest chalkboard in Chicago. Restaurateurs hold their breath when passing." Chefs Andrew Brochu and Philip Foss are showing a sense of humor about one of the dark sides of the restaurant business - frequent, sudden closures.

Instead of a graveyard of lost souls, this is a graveyard of lost restaurants. Kith and Kin (Brochu's former restaurant), Avenues (closed earlier this year when Chef Curtis Duffy departed), The Black Sheep (their closing saga kept us amused and horrified for weeks) and Spring (Shawn McClain's flagship restaurant that closed on New Years Eve). In the upper corner? El Ideas, 2011-?
