Buehrle Wins Third Straight Gold Glove

Mark Buehrle's value in free agency increased after the White Sox pitcher won his third straight Gold Glove Award. Buehrle committed only one error last season and picked off six runners. Since 2001 Buehrle leads all major league pitchers with 85 pickoffs. Web gems like his classic between the legs putout in the Sox' 2010 season opener also help burnish Buehrle's credentials as one of the best fielding pitchers in the game.
Buehrle's defensive prowess, durability - he's pitched 200 innings, made 30 starts and notched double digit wins for 11 straight seasons - and a resume that includes two no hitters (one of them a perfect game) should earn him a big money contract somewhere next season. Buehrle filed for free agency Sunday and Sox' GM Kenny Williams said before the end of the season he'll allow his star southpaw to test the waters before offering him a new contract.
