Chicago Locales Make List of Best Fried Chicken in America

Crisp and Harold's Chicken Shack made Food and Wine magazine's list of America's best fried chicken. We're happy to see Harold's getting a nod after being left off Travel and Leisure's list last year, while Crisp made that list. Back in 2006, our EIC wrote an ode to Harold's, "The Fried Chicken King," for its stellar eats. We've raved about the glory of Crisp's Korean barbecue before, too. While we don't know a lot about the out-of-town contenders, we can't help but think a few other Chicago spots would be solid candidates for the list. Who would get your vote?

Put a half fried chicken slathered in buffalo sauce from Crisp in front of me and you'll see a very happy man.  The fried chicken at White Fence Farm in Lemont is actually pretty damn good as well, although it's nowhere near as spicy.
