The Weekend Flashback: Vintage Chicago Billboards

The folks at Uptown Update posted video Wednesday showing classic product advertisements, vintage Chicago street scenes and antique vehicles.

But they only showed one part. The clip was part of trade video produced in the 1940s by the General Outdoor Company to show how billboard advertising could influence consumers. We've included all three parts for you.

    Part 3 was hysterically funny!
My fave is the line "scientifically chosen locations" for their billboards.
Like hell they were. It was just empty lots & the property owner got his real estate taxes paid for by the billboard company's rent.

BTW, where the Hancock Building were two huge billboards until they were removed to build the Hancock.
