Illinois Man Calls 911 Five Times Because His iPhone Is Broken

2011_11_10_michael_skopec.jpg
A Kendall County man dialed 911 five times to complain about his malfunctioning iPhone. Michael Alan Skopec, 48, didn't get the tech support he wanted. Police traced the calls to his Bristol township home. They described him as intoxicated and uncooperative. He was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for resisting arrest around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

This is the most dramatic "white whine" we've ever seen. By the way, if it's such an emergency that his phone wasn't working, how was he able to call 911? Clearly he either has a landline, or the phone part of his iPhone was still working. Maybe he just couldn't get Angry Birds to work. That happens sometimes.

This is amazing. I am assuming this genius had a passcode lock on his phone and then drunkenly forgot it. After so many failed attempts, the phone locks you out but will allow you to make emergency calls to 911 only.  Sounds to me like that's exactly what happened here. Brilliant.
