Tickets for Music Box's Sing-A-Long Sound of Music Now On Sale

The Music Box's annual sing-a-long version of The Sound of Music has become a holiday tradition and, for many, a nice tune-up for the Christmas sing-a-longs that follow.

The evening starts with a vocal warm-up, while the evening's host guides attendees through their "magic moments" packs props to be used at strategic points throughout the film. the "fancy dress competition" brings folks who come to the film in costume onstage to show off their ensembles. Previous entries have included nuns of both genders, including a pregnant nun; a goatherd; a man in a gold lycra catsuit (Ray a Drop of Golden Sun!); a group of 20 people tied together and draped in fake turf (the Alps); and both girls and boys white dresses with blue satin sashes. If you're thinking The Sound of Music crossed with The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you aren't far off.

The shows sell out every year and tickets to the party are now on sale. They will sell out, so grab them now.

I'm not afraid to admit that the Sound of Music is one of my favorite all-time movies. I've been wanting to go to the sing-along for awhile but I think I must be the lone fan of the movie amongst my friends.  I am not one who doesn't mind going to movies by myself. This one, I think, needs some pre-gaming boozing and a bunch of friends to attend with you.
