Cynthia Plaster Caster Turns to Kickstarter to Raise Funds for Memoirs

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 11, 2011 7:40PM

Last we heard from Cynthia Plaster Caster she was running for mayor of Chicago and sat down for an entertaining podcast with Karl Klockars.

The recovering groupie, artist and plaster penis aficionado also has been working on her memoirs, tentatively titled Plaster of Paradise, off and on for the past 20 years. Why so long? (Pun totally intended.) Well, as an artist with a fluctuating means of income, it's hard for Plaster Caster to sit down to the tasks of writing and digitizing photos and archives dating back more than 40 years without letting something fall by the wayside. Like rent. Or not being able to afford plaster. Or going out every night looking for subjects for her growing collection of plaster dongs

So, Plaster Caster has (reluctantly, in her words) turned to Kickstarter to raise funds to help cover her living costs while she turns her attention to finally finishing her biography.

It seems as though there's a Kickstarter campaign popping up every second. We wouldn't be surprised if there was a Kickstarter campaign for a Kickstarter campaign. But the thought of reading the memoirs of Cynthia Plaster Caster makes this one more worthwhile. Pledge $2,000 and you can be the proud owner of a copy of Jimi Hendrix's cast, which she calls "the Godfather of Whopper Choppers in (her) collection."

She also promises to dish some dirt in the book, once it comes out.
