Two Arrested for Hoarding Pets

Two people in Elmwood Park were arrested for hoarding more than 40 pets. Firefighters were called to the residence when a minor fire broke out. Police took over after that. The Tribune writes:

Elmwood Park police alerted the Cook County Animal Control department, which took possession of 22 dogs and 21 cats, some of which were in poor condition, the chief said.

Both the animals and the hoarders are in custody.
