Thursday Afternoon Diversion: Around America in Five Minutes

With colder weather in town this weekend, and winter knocking on our door, today's a good day to think back to warmer weather and free times, of just this past summer. Brian DeFrees brings us a time-lapse video of his two month road trip across the United States this summer. If you must see our fair city, start at 4:32, but the whole video is pretty fun, and worth the watching time.

I must own that song now.

It is frightening that I've been on some of those Colorado roads often enough that I recognized them in fast motion -- and I've never actually lived in Colorado.

  • As somebody who has driven across the nation a number of times and will jump at every chance to do it again, I absolutely love this. Now I want to go somewhere.

    Fun observations:
*It makes perfect sense that the first time the car comes to a complete stop would be the Las Vegas strip.
*I think that must be forest fire smoke at 1:50.
    *He got a ticket, 4:23.
