Windy City 1, Christmas Trees 0
How windy is it outside? So much that the Christmas tree display at the Plaza of the Americas on Michigan Avenue were no match for gusts of up to 49 mph.
The winds have been singing all day outside Chicagoist headquarters, readers. And since they're blowing between 25-35 mph, they should be. We've been out a couple of times today and, each time, we've had the remains of cardboard boxes making better time down the street. The heavy winds will continue until 9 p.m. tonight. Good time to fly a kite, if you're so inclined.
