The standoff that cocked up Red and Purple line operation last night is over and now details about what happened in Uptown.

It all started when Chicago Police, working with officers from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, arrested a suspect in a firearms investigation around 4:15 p.m.

The other three suspects barricaded themselves inside a building at 4639 N. Broadway. Because of the sensitive nature of the situation, police asked CTA to halt train service between Addison and Berwyn. The Purple Line stopped running, while shuttle buses ran between Belmont and Berwyn.

The standoff ended just before 10 p.m. last night.

  • "The police that cocked up Red and Purple line operation last night is over and now details about what happened in Uptown." This sentence is missing something. Perhaps a noun.

Meant to simply type "Standoff." Lo siento. Corrected.

  • I don't think it's fair to say the police cocked it up. It was the criminals who caused it. The police were doing their job and keeping the citizens safe.

Unless it has been edited since your comment, the story doesn't say the police cocked anything up. I agree with you, except the story doesn't seem to say it.
