walshoctweet.jpg Protesters from Chicago who traveled to Washington, D.C. for the “Take Back The Capitol” actions received a cold shoulder from Congressman Joe Walsh yesterday. Members of Stand Up! Chicago, SEIU, Occupy Chicago, including two of Walsh's constituents, dropped in to Walsh's offices around noon, where they were told by an aide he might see them later in the afternoon, reports the Huffington Post. The group was hoping to talk to Walsh about cuts to Medicare and Social Security.

After about three hours, Walsh made a break for it to avoid meeting the group of nearly two dozen. His staff insisted he had votes, but activist Micah Uetricht said “"they were fully aware of this when they suggested he would meet with them at 3."

Walsh will be back in town Thursday, where he will finally tell voters at a Tea Party rally which district he'll run in.
