Woman Steals Cop's iPhone from Police Station
What is it about the iPhone that turns ordinary people into Gollums hissing for their precious, and owners of the phones into idiots? A woman was arrested after she stole a police officer's iPhone from the station where he was stationed.
Epifania Bahena works as a custodian at the Harrison District police station when she found the cop's iPhone laying around unsecured in the locker room while he was at roll call getting ready for his shift Thursday night. When the policeman couldn't find his phone and asked others if they had seen it, he decided to use the phone's GPS system to track it down and discovered it heading to Bahena's home on the South side.
When questioned about the phone, Bahena said she knew nothing. That's when Bahena's added layers to the story like dressing for a blizzard. She later told police she found a phone, took it home and was going to tell her supervisor about it. She then returned to the Harrsion District station the next day and wanted to discuss what she called a "misunderstanding" involving the phone, which she claimed she found outside near a car.
Needless to say, the careless policeman got his iPhone back and Bahena was taken into custody. She'll appear in court Dec. 28.
