A couple of students at Evanston Township High School used tween pop music to influence their classmates to fork over money to save a nearby nonprofit coffee shop. Over the course of three days, two students played Justin Bieber's "Baby" over the school's PA system more than 20 times. The Sun-Times writes:

To motivate their fellow students to donate money for a struggling cafe/arts center popular with ETHS kids, seniors Charlotte Runzel and Jesse Chatz persuaded administrators to let them blast Bieber’s hit “Baby” over the school’s loudspeaker system at the end of each class period — and not stop playing the song until Runzel and Chatz had met their goal.

Well, we're glad they met their goal, but is it a creative fundraising tactic or psychological warfare? The song itself is repetitive enough — he says "baby" at least 50 times — and it's catchy as hell with the ability to superglue itself to your eardrums. (Eds. note: The song has been stuck in my head since I started writing this. — S.A.) We wonder how much they would've made if they waterboarded their classmates.

And with that we'll leave you with this bit from Chicago-born comedian John Mulaney. It is the tale of the best meal ever had: He and his friend loaded the jukebox at the Salt & Pepper Diner with Tom Jones songs and watched the patrons lose their minds. So which is worse — "Baby" or "What's New Pussycat?"
