You might not expect that a venue with an Old Style sign hanging out front and $5 beer-and-shot deals would offer membership plans, but the Empty Bottle always delights us with little surprises. The Ukrainian Village venue is now offering Friends Of the Bottle passes, year-long memberships at the cost of $150 each.

How it works is FOB holders get into every ‘Bottle show in 2012 that costs less than $10, which is most of them. While you still have to pay admission for shows over ten bucks, members get first dibs—you get access to tickets 24 hours before they go on sale, and you get to go to the head of the line when you arrive for any show.

The membership also comes with one free EB t-shirt as well as a few ongoing benefits, like a free drink ticket worth up to $5 at every show you attend, 15% off at Bite Café while you wait for the show to start, 15% off at the online store, and exclusive invitations to secret shows. Plus you get a nifty, laminated card to put in your wallet as proof that you and the Bottle are close companions.

It’s a pretty sweet deal for those who stop by the venue every weekend or even once a month to catch some local music. But if you only go for the big-name shows, maybe not so much. Hardcore Bottle-goers might want to pay the big bucks for the Gold Pass. It’s $500 and gets you free admission to every show in 2012 no matter the price, including the Empty Bottle Presents shows at its affiliated venues.
