Foster the People
Personally, we won't be buying tickets to this. But if you can tolerate hearing "Pumped Up Kicks" one more time, you might want to consider it. As for us at Chicagoist, we're pretty sure that six months from now, we'll still be building defenses to keep that terribly catchy song out of our ears. They'll be playing with Tokyo Police Club, so there's that. Tickets go on sale today, if you have eardrums of steel.
Congress Theater, 2135 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, 7 p.m. $35

Foster the People have one hit song and are playing Congress?!? Perhaps I'm underestimating their popularity but my opinion of the band is closely aligned with that of Chicagoist's. Love TPC, bummer they'll sound like hell there, too.
