What's The Deal With Festivus?
Do you celebrate Festivus? The faux-liday spawned from a classic Seinfeld episode is a holiday just like any other. While we're skeptical of people who try to make Festivus a thing, we can't help but indulge in a Christmas-time Seinfeld marathon today. Really, most holiday events that involve spending time with family inevitably include some form of "airing of grievances." The "feats of strength" usually take the form of a backyard flag football game after Thanksgiving dinner. A metal pole is much cleaner and safer than a big flammable tree shedding pine needles, and tinsel really is "distracting". So write a check to The Human Fund and here's to a happy Festivus for the rest of us.
