Your Morning Wake-Up Call For December 23, 2011

Hey, remember that yellow ball that used to be in the sky? It gave off light and warmth and made it worth going outside. I think it was called "sun." Anyway, it seems like we haven't seen it much lately, and weather maestro Tom Skilling confirms it:

The past 10 days have seen just 220 of the area's possible 5,496 minutes of sunshine for the December 13 through the 22nd period. That's only 4 percent of our possible sun and less than half the 543 minutes of sunlight which occurred in the same period a year ago.

Well Skilling says we might get to see that yellow thing this afternoon. There may be a little rain this morning, a few flurries. But this afternoon: Sunshine. Get ready.

Also, wish a happy birthday to Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. He is 47 years old today.
