Countdown Chicago Hosts Totally Made Out At Midnight

By Samantha Abernethy in News on Jan 1, 2012 7:30PM

The annual live broadcast of Countdown Chicago is always awkward, but this year Janet Davies and Mark Giangreco took it up a notch when they put a little extra oomph into their midnight smooch. It's a joke, right? They're not seriously kissing on live television. Right? The thing is, the kiss went on just a little too long. As Davies goes in for the kill, Giangreco starts to back off, and she just keeps it going. Real or not, it'll make you feel uncomfortable, and we mean that in a good way.

Since we know you don't want to watch the full broadcast, we went in and found the kiss — it's at the 12:45 mark in the video embedded below. For added awkward, George Hamilton creepily wishes you a happy new year at the beginning of the video. Then watch the countdown to midnight at the 9:45 mark and take note that Davies seems completely lost and a little off on the counting.

The full broadcast is available in five parts on the ABC7 website. We're going to have to watch the whole thing to create a drinking game to make next year's Countdown Chicago more fun.
