We're working on a review of Takashi Yagihashi's Slurping Turtle for later this week. Until then, we wanted to give you a teaser for what to expect.

Takashi's Sunday ramen is one of the best things going in Chicago and the ramen offerings at Slurping Turtle are also worth the price of admission. But one dish that you need to be ordering from the dumplings and hot tapas menu are these crispy curry croquettes. Many diners tend to associate curry with the cooking of the Indian subcontinent, but its influence and flavor can also be found in Southeast Asia and the Pacific rim.

Curry in Japanese cooking is sometimes foreign to the American palate. These vegetarian croquettes are a hearty welcome to the taste buds, with a nice panko crunch on the outside and savory, creamy texture once you dig in. At $7, they're also very sizable portions and made for sharing.

Slurping Turtle is located at 116 W. Hubbard St.
