The total number of norovirus cases stemming from Bob Chinn's now stands at 146. Both restaurant spokesman Dan Erdman and Cook County Department of Public Health spokeswoman Amy Poore say the restaurant is now safe to visit. But the investigation continues as to what was the cause of the outbreak.

Poore said the County health department has received dozens of calls from people who said they became ill eating at Bob Chinn's, but that gastrointestinal illness is common this time of year, which further clouds whether all the cases reported originated from the restaurant.
