If Richard M. Daley was still mayor, the street outside Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters would have been among the first cleared. (Chuck Sudo/Chicagoist)

You were all warned this winter storm warning would cock up your evening commute. Here's the latest on what to expect, if you haven't left work already.

  • CTA has re-routed all buses off Lake Shore Drive because of the storm. That affects 15 routes. [Chicago Breaking News]
  • The official snowfall total at O'Hare International Airport as of 4 p.m. is 3.2 inches. [CBS Chicago]
  • 600 flights canceled at O'Hare, another 100 at Midway. [Sun-Times]
  • Since all those flights are canceled, sit back and enjoy the gridlock. Travel times from the Circle Interchange to O'Hare are nearly two hours. Traffic has stopped to a crawl along the Bishop Ford Freeway and the Dan Ryan. [CBS Chicago]
  • NBC Chicago, as is their wont, sent Jeff Goldblatt and a camera crew out to take pictures of what we can determine for ourselves by looking out a fucking window. And they Instagrammed it. How sweet. (Didn't see that coming.) [NBC Chicago]
  • CTA Tweeted that "L" service is running normally as of an hour ago, but that can change in an instant. Plan accordingly. [CTA Twitter]
  • Chicago ClearStreets was already mentioned. Bookmark that. [Chicago ClearStreets]

The cta was great as well.  took the train/bus instead of driving to work and was glad i did when i got out of work.

  • Just wanted to say thanks to the snow plowers and bus drivers who got me home yesterday afternoon. Things were moving slowly, but they did move. Great job, city services!
