The host of the event, the Columbia Yacht Club.
Last year, nine chefs competed to create the winning Chowdah for Chowdah Fest. This year, the event is getting bigger and better, with 12 chefs already on board (and more promised). Goose Island will be serving vintage ales, and the proceeds go to a good cause. Best of all, if you buy your tickets for the March 5th event now, you can get a $15 discount!

Chowdah Fest is the brainchild of Jeff Reid, owner of Imagine Festivals (which also produced the Chicago Ice Cream Fest). This year, some pretty heavy hitters will be cooking up your fish and competing to win an audience choice award for "Best Chowdah in Town." Participating chefs include Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish and Oyster), Nicole Pederson (C-House), Mark Stauer (The Bedford), Susan Goss (West Town Tavern), Brandon Baltzley and more. If you buy a ticket, you'll get to taste every chowder - with so many fabulous chefs on board, it turns out to be quite a bargain.

The event is again being held on board the Columbia Yacht Club's 1940s era Icebreaker, moored in the harbor. We can't imagine a better atmosphere to eat seafood, and you can bet that we'll be there. The proceeds will be donated to the Sea Scouts youth sailing program. Buy tickets here for $35 - $50 if you wait until February.
