How mild has this winter been compared to last? Tom Skilling says the average temperature of 32.4 degrees is 11.3 degrees warmer than last year and the warmest winter Chicago has experienced in 78 years. Still, the bottom could drop out in February and we can all be grousing about living in Hoth before we know it. As for today, we'll be happy with the forecast high of 38 degrees and partly cloudy skies. It's the 46th day this winter the high temper is warmer than average. We're 56 days into meteorological winter.
