Monday Morning Diversion: OK Go Are All Needing/Getting On You

OK Go continue their streak of memorable videos constructed through partnerships that recall ye olde days of when the upper crust (in this case corporations) acted as patrons to the arts. And, if such arrangements continue to allow a band like OK Go unfettered creativity without having to beg for alms, we're O.K. with that.

My fear is that OK Go will be known as "that band that does the videos and commercials" than "that band that writes good music" if they continue down this path.

  • Considering their recorded output is only getting stronger, and their videos continue to push boundaries, I don't fear that as much. If anything they're done an excellent jon of positioning themselves as the band who retains independence by learning how to utilize "the system" to advance their own artistic interests.
