2012_2_8Pasta.jpg We've bitched against dining out on Valentine's day enough. Now it's time for a great alternative if you want to stay home but still have a gourmet feast. Pasta Puttana has got your back. They are offering a 3-course dinner for two, all prepped and ready to go, for you to cook at home. The cost? Just $60 for both of you. Add in a bouquet of roses and some champagne and you've got a great evening.

The dinner menu couldn't be better. The first course includes an antipasti of olives and salume, followed by a peekytoe crab tortelli with fresh truffle butter. All you have to do is heat some water and melt the butter. For dessert, a totally unique option - a sweet pasta for you to saute, accompanied by bittersweet wild cherry syrup. You can have this whole meal cooked in less than 20 minutes, which leaves plenty of time to focus on the more important parts of the evening. All of the pasta is made in-house from fresh, local ingredients.

You've got to order this meal in advance. Place your orders by Feb. 12. Call Pasta Puttana at 773-439-9623 or email jvolpe@pastaputtana.com. The dinners will be ready for pick up after 11 a.m. on the 14th.

Pasta Puttana is located at 1407 W. Grand Ave.
