Earlier this afternoon, Mayor Emanuel's office announced the official launch of the "Adopt-A-Sidewalk" website, part of the city's ChicagoShovels.org initiative that includes the much maligned Snow Plow Tracker.
With Adopt-A-Sidewalk, you can claim a sidewalk that needs shoveling, check for sidewalks where residents need assistance clearing, share shovels and other snow removal supplies and ask for help, if necessary. As you can see from the photo, we need no help right now. But snow removal is a marathon, not a sprint.
