In Pictures: Luminous Field At Millennium Park

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 10, 2012 8:20PM

Luminous Field is an ambitious and stunning new art installation that officially opens tonight at Millennium Park. For the next ten days Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate sculpture and the AT&T Plaza on which it sits will be transformed after dark into a canvas of light and geometrical form, courtesy of a video and light installation from local artistic collective Luftwerk. collaborators Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero use video and light with material, surface, and structure to create a unique sculptural experience

This first-ever site installation is also set to music composed by Third Coast Percussion's Owen Clayton Condon. A preview event for Luminous Field was held last night and some of our more dedicated members of the Chicagoist Photos Flickr pool were there to capture the installation.

Luminous Field runs from 6-10 p.m. Feb. 10 through Feb. 20.
