So, About Those Grammys

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 13, 2012 3:10PM

I appeared on FOX's Good Day Chicago this morning to chat about last night's Grammys telecast. Watch the video and let us know your thoughts on the show.

On the local side of things, despite winning a number of Grammys (Rap Album, Rap Performance, Rap Song and Rap/Sung Collaboration) Kanye West was a no show. And while I was pleased to see Don Cornelius get a shout-out apart from the usual montage of performers who passed away I was also chagrined to see Chris Brown's involvement with it.

Why are the Grammys important? I don't want to take away the validation artists who win 99% of the awards deserve. But outside of being a sales driver for a few artists with a high enough profile to earn integration with the telecast, the Grammys award SHOW is pretty much meaningless at this point.
