If you've never been to Prasino, you're doing yourself a disservice. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability goes past the food to sourcing small-batch, artisanal and locally crafted spirits. Prasino's "Spirit Education" series serves as an opportunity to meet local distillers, what they're producing and to sample them as cocktails, paired with the restaurant's food.

Next Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m., Prasino's Spirit Education dinner will focus on North Shore Distillery and Hum Botanical Spirit. The two companies have a long relationship with each other: North Shore distills the rum that's the base for Hum's recipe.

Hum Spirits founder Adam Seger will be on hand to mix cocktails with Prasino mixologist Todd Ekis to create the drinks and talk about the liqueur. The drinks will be paired with a special menu by Executive Chef Scott Halverson. Best of all, the four-course dinner only costs $48, excluding tax and gratuity.

Seating is limited for this event. If you're interested, call 312-878-1212 to make a reservation.

Prasino is located at 1846 W. Division St.
