Jamaine Williams (Cook County Sheriff's Department)
Meet Jamaine Williams. He's on parole for a weapons conviction and was already wanted in connection with the robbery of a Ukrainian Village pizzeria caught on security cameras last month when he was arrested Sunday for allegedly stealing a car on the South side.

According to authorities, Williams stole a Jeep Cherokee from a gas station and led police on a high-speed chase that at points reached speeds of 100 mph, hit a squad car and blew out three of the Jeep's tires. When he was finally apprehended after a brief foot chase at 83rd Street and State Street, Williams had a loaded .40 caliber weapon in his possession—the same weapon used in the robbery of Village Pizza at 2356 W. Chicago Ave. He was also allegedly resisting arrest, so police Tasered him.

Williams supposedly told authorities he stole the Jeep because he was tired of the "piece of shit" car that was given to him by a "bitch." (Classy.) His wish for a better vehicle led to charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, armed robbery with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor criminal trespass to vehicle and fourteen traffic violations. He was ordered held without bond yesterday.

Williams' alleged partner in the Village Pizza robbery, Kenya Glenn, was arrested Jan. 20 in that incident and has been held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
